Welcome to the site!
My full name is Adam Zaliouk, but most people call me AZ, or Adam Z.
I was born in London, England, but grew up in the United States. Currently I reside in Israel and have lived there for the last ten years.
As far back as I can remember I have been interested in the arts. My father is a symphony conductor and my mother is a former ballerina so I grew up in a world of artistic expression. As a child and student no subject shone brighter or spoke louder than painting, photography, music, or dance. In High School I studied advanced art and concept with David Burkett.
Cooking is another passion and I studied to be a chef at the New England Culinary Institute. It seemed to be a natural avenue to express my creative side but I found it more satisfying to photograph the beautiful dishes than work in the kitchen creating them.
At the same time, I was passionately photographing and documenting all that I found interesting, whether it was a delicate flower, or a disturbing image of someone living on the street. I enjoy the feeling of being able to create an instant image with the click of the shutter.
The idea for this site is to showcase my photographs and introduce some of my paintings. I would define myself as a freelance photographer and artist. My mission statement is; “Strive to please those that I work for and provide the highest standards in quality and professionalism”.
I am a perfectionist by nature, a romantic at heart, and a person who gets satisfaction through visually highlighting our world with a blank canvas or behind the lens
